Terms and conditions for using the Cumbria Media Walls website and submitting enquiries.
Cumbria Media Walls is a sole trader business based in Cumbria, providing bespoke media wall design and installation services. Contact: 07484 306 171 (phone, text or WhatsApp) or hello@cumbriamediawalls.com.
This website is provided for information. We take care to keep it accurate, but designs, materials and availability can change, and nothing on these pages forms a binding offer.
Images on this site show the style and standard of work we produce. They are illustrative of what we design and build, not a guarantee that your finished wall will be identical — every wall is bespoke to its own room.
Submitting an enquiry does not create a contract. Quotations are given after we have seen the space, and are valid for the period stated on the quote itself.
A contract exists only once a quotation has been accepted in writing and any agreed deposit has been paid.
No payments are taken through this website.
Any design concepts, mood boards, sketches, plans, layouts and AI-generated visuals we prepare for you are illustrative only. They are there to show intent — proportions, materials, layout and feel — and are not exact technical representations of the finished wall. Dimensions, finishes, colours and lighting in the completed build can differ from the visual.
Where a visual and your written quotation disagree, the written quotation and the design agreed with you are what govern the work.
All design concepts and visuals we produce for you remain our intellectual property. They are supplied to you for one purpose only: so you can consider our quotation. Ownership does not pass to you unless and until you proceed with the installation and the work has been paid for in full.
This means our designs may not be copied, reproduced, or passed to another supplier, contractor or tradesperson to price, quote against, or build from, whether in whole or in part, without our written permission.
Some elements of an installation — certified electrical work in particular — are carried out by trusted trade partners. We coordinate that work and remain your single point of contact throughout.
Payment terms — including any deposit, any stage payments, and when the final balance falls due — are set out in your written quotation. Those terms form part of the contract between us.
No payments are taken through this website. We will never ask you for card details by text or email.
Where a deposit has been paid and you cancel outside any cancellation rights described in section 7, we may retain an amount reflecting work already carried out and any materials already ordered specifically for your job.
If we agree a contract with you away from business premises — which includes agreeing it in your own home — or at a distance, by phone, text or email, you normally have a 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The 14 days run from the day the contract is made for services, or from the day you receive the goods where goods are supplied.
Two things commonly affect that right on a job like this, and it is worth being clear about both before you commit:
To cancel, tell us by phone, text, WhatsApp or email within the cancellation period. A clear statement that you wish to cancel is enough — you do not need to use any particular form of words.
None of this affects your separate statutory rights if something we supply is faulty or not as described. See section 11.
We need safe, clear and timely access to the room we are working in, along with electricity and water where the job requires it. Please make sure furniture, belongings and anything fragile have been moved clear of the working area before we arrive, unless we have agreed otherwise.
Where access is not available as arranged, or the room is not ready, the work may take longer and further visits may be chargeable.
Bespoke work sometimes uncovers things that could not reasonably have been seen when the quotation was prepared — non-standard construction, hidden pipework or cabling, damp, unstable plaster, or walls that are not built as they appear. Where that happens we will stop, explain what we have found, and agree any change to the scope, price or timescale with you before carrying on.
If we encounter, or suspect we have encountered, asbestos-containing materials, we will stop work immediately and it will need specialist assessment before we can continue. This is a legal requirement and is outside our control.
Timescales we give are estimates made in good faith. We are not liable for delays caused by matters outside our reasonable control, including delays caused by third-party trade partners, material suppliers or manufacturers, or by you. We will keep you informed and do what we reasonably can to limit any delay.
The text, images, design names and layout of this website belong to Cumbria Media Walls and may not be reproduced without permission.
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Beyond that, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information published on this website.
We are not liable for damage to pre-existing defects that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand, or for the condition of existing surfaces, fixtures or decoration beyond the area we have been engaged to work on, except where that damage is caused by our own negligence.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Under that Act, services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and for a reasonable price where no price has been agreed. Goods supplied must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
If anything in these terms is found to conflict with those rights, your statutory rights take precedence.
If something is not right, please tell us as soon as you can — most things are quickest to put right while we are still on site or shortly afterwards.
Contact us by phone, text or WhatsApp on 07484 306 171, or email hello@cumbriamediawalls.com, setting out what the problem is. We aim to acknowledge every complaint within five working days and to agree with you how and when it will be resolved.
If we cannot resolve matters between us, you may be able to take the matter further through Citizens Advice, your local Trading Standards service, or the courts. Nothing here prevents you from doing so.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
Questions about these terms: 07484 306 171 or hello@cumbriamediawalls.com.
