Media Walls in Kendal

Across Kendal and South Lakeland — Oxenholme, Burneside, Natland, Staveley, Milnthorpe and out to Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale — we design and install bespoke media walls, with electrics, plastering and finishing project-managed for you.

Built For
Kendal Homes

Kendal is the town where a template media wall falls apart fastest. The limestone cottages through the yards and out toward Burneside have thick, genuinely uneven walls, low ceilings and floors that are rarely level over three metres. A unit built to a standard size and carried in simply will not sit flush against any of that.

So the build is scribed to the room. The frame is packed and levelled independently of the wall behind it, and the finished face is set out to the eye line rather than to the floor. On the newer estates around Oxenholme and Natland none of that is necessary and the job is quicker and cheaper — which is exactly why the quote follows the survey, not a price list.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Yes. Kendal and the surrounding villages — Oxenholme, Burneside, Natland, Staveley — plus Milnthorpe, Sedbergh, Kirkby Lonsdale and the rest of South Lakeland.

Yes, and it is a large part of the work around Kendal. A stone wall is almost never flat or plumb, so we do not try to fix flat to it. The frame is built independently, packed and scribed until the face is true, then finished. That is slower than a build onto a modern plasterboard wall and it is reflected in the quote — but it is the difference between a wall that looks fitted and one that looks stuck on.

Yes. Nothing is ordered or cut until you have seen and agreed the layout — the proportions, where the screen and any fire sit, the shelving, the materials and the finish. If something is not right, that is the point at which to change it.

It depends on the width of the wall, the finish, whether a fire is integrated, and — around Kendal in particular — how much levelling and scribing the room needs. The consultation and quote are free and carry no obligation.
